I sent 2 monetary donations from my husband's memorial fund at our church.
One went to a family whose husband has been dealing with cancer for over a year and a half. The other went to a family whose daughter had a heart transplant about 4 years ago, which is now being rejected. She recently went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester in hopes of getting another heart. Both families have had many expenses due to their health problems.

Your act of kindness, love and generosity:
Dear friends just had their daughter get married. We were invited to the wedding and realized they needed help setting up so we offered to help. After the wedding we helped as well. It was great to be able to offer assistance especially at a time when it was needed. We didn't do it for glory, we did out of love. It is 1:30 am and we just got done. zzz

Your act of kindness, love and generosity:
Rock found in a park in Parker's Prairie in MN.
As we were leaving the zoo in Little Falls, Steve noticed an elderly lady bagging leaves in her yard. We stopped to ask if she would like some help, which she declined at first. Upon asking again, she accepted our offer. You could see the Gratitude in her face. As we were bagging her leaves, we learned that she had lost her husband a couple of months ago...It was our honor to help and share kindness.. she introduced herself, but I can't remember her name...but it was nice to hear her comment about "there still are good people in this world"...she hugged me before we left and thanked us a couple times over. Her lawn was not completely finished, so I think I will check on this sweet lady again this week to see if she needs more help...and spread more kindness.
Doing that act of kindness felt
amazing!! Just to see the look on the ladies face, and know how thankful she was to have this help was priceless!!

Found this rock at Straight River Rest Area highway 35 W South in MN. It just so happens we are in the middle of an act of kindness when I found this. Not sure that counts so we plan to do another Radom act along our trip.

Your act of kindness, love and generosity:
Got my rock from you in August, placed it in an informal children's fairy garden in the forest.
Having some tree work done in my yard and I included getting rid of my older woman neighbor's (even older than me!) 15-year pile of sticks and debris in our work order. Now one could argue that this helps us by removing some potential fire hazard material, but it helps her because she never would have the strength or money to get rid of the 20 ft x 6 ft wall of sticks abutting her house. She is a lovely, positive woman who is dealing with a 25ish old daughter who just tried to commit suicide for the second time. It makes me feel that although this was a very small act, it takes one nagging problem away from her as she works so hard to help her daughter. This is a lovely thing you have done for your daughter. Thank you.

Your acts of kindness, love and generosity:
With the Holidays coming up my family loves to spread kindness. I always have my kids pick out a new toy for toys for tots. We also go through the toys in our house and donate them to kids in need. We also are making fleece tie blankets this year for Fairview Ridges Hospital to give to kids who stay there. It is a great time to remember others and show Kindness. Julie was the best at thinking about others and being kind. :)

Your acts of kindness, love and generosity:
Julie, I want to share not an act of kindness that I did, but one that your sweet mother did for me. I have been so worried about my dog who has been ill and she has reached out to me a few times to see how my dog and I are doing. Her love and concern mean the world to me and I’m so proud to call her my friend. She is an inspiration to me as I’m sure she was an inspiration to you. Your love will live on in her heart forever.

Your acts of kindness, love and generosity:
Reflecting on our acts of kindness leaves one with a feeling that we definitely should do more. Throughout the past two years Covid has called upon us to put others first, particularly the needs of the children. It has also reminded us to share more with our fellow Americans. But "listening first" and then helping, is the act of love that is the base of all for me. My grandchildren and I have painted a rock for Julie, with a purple heart, "flashes of blue lightning" and splashes of green. I asked them where I should bring it...."take it on a hike, Grandma, and put it on the tippy top." So that's what I will do. And, I will remember to listen first.

Donate to charity, rescue an animal (humane society to adopt, wildlife rescue to safe and rehab wildlife) USE THE PHONE! The sound of your voice means so much to your relatives, to seniors, have a conversation instead of texting Send a card to thank someone or to let them know you are thinking of them Help others be grateful for the good things Compliment whenever you can - especially to the store/company workers who are overwhelmed. Today I told someone at the DVS that they did a great job and were very helpful. To those in the grocery store checkout - "Thanks for being here", to my dental office "You are so good at your job and I'm lucky to have you and get to see you every 6 months!" Tell your friends "Thank you for being my friend". Always hold the door for the next person. Be aware of disabled or elderly, help them at the checkout or going in or out of a building or maybe to their car so they are also safe. Give hugs - not everyone gets them. Bring in mail for a sick or elderly neighbor. Walk someone's dog for them Bake someone cookies SMILE and say HELLO - it may be the only connection that person receives.

What a great tribute to a beautiful person, inside and out! I’m on the lookout, on my daily walks, to find and distribute more cute, fun rocks. I was kind, this morning, to the Cox representative who answered my repetitive call, to remain patient in their “wait and see” attitude, to repair my poor tv connection. At the end of our long, exasperating call, he said, “I hope you have a good day!” With clenched teeth, I said, “I hope you have a good day, too!”

The other day I took a phone call at the Salvation Army food bank where I volunteer. We were closing for the day and I was waiting for my ride to come get me. A woman called who lives in a hotel and said she and her son had no food. They were both hungry. She had no money until the next day. She wanted to know if I could bring her a food box. I didn’t have transportation at the time to get her a food box however an idea quickly came to my mind. I asked her where her and her son like to eat. She told me a few places and I told her to pick one and give me their order and I would order her something and have it delivered to the hotel she was living at. She was so grateful! It was also an easy do for me, all I had to do was pick up the phone and call in her order and pay for it.

A good friend of mine recently had COVID 19. She is a nurse in a children’s hospital and is unmarried. Since I was unable to be with her in person I made it a point to call her daily at around dinner time and make sure she had food to eat. I also sent her a pizza one evening. She told me later how much she had appreciated this daily check in. A little love goes a long way .❤️

Today while I was at the local Dairy Queen, I noticed how messy the dining area was. They had obviously been very busy and were short staffed. It appeared the hard-working group that was there were mostly teenagers. After I finished my cone, I asked one of the teenagers for the red bucket of water and towel to wipe down the tables in their dining room. He handed
me the bucket and thanked me.

Your acts of kindness, love and generosity:
I wanted to follow up on the spreading love in honor of your beautiful daughter. As I promised, I brought this rainbow rock to maui. As it happened, my partner of 13 years died during the last week that I was on island. I brought the rock to the place where we had met thirteen years ago. A lady came up to my friend and me while we were roasting Bill. She happened to be an elderly lady from Minnesota. She asked me what I was eating. Her approach to me was very intentional. She was there with her family for the first time. Later on I was led to go and give her the rock and tell her to be open to the magic of healing and love on maui. She got teary eyed and gave me a huge hug while she told me about the recent passing of her sister. I told her about my Bill. We hugged again while her family were taking pictures of the two of us. I asked her if she would do a tequila shot in honor of Bill and her sister. She said, “Absolutely!” Once she had eaten. I also told her that I had promised you I would spread love in honor of Julie. She loved that she was a part of that. I knew that you’d want or need to hear this story. It touched my heart and this beautiful lady’s heart. Julie lives on in the joy of others.
Sending love.

A pug dog was running around in our yard, he looked very lost. I approached him with a treat, he was so happy to accept and was eager to get a drink of water. I checked him for a collar or any other ID and found nothing. We walked the neighborhood, put his picture on Next Door and Facebook without a response for several hours. He accompanied us to pick something up in Coon Rapids and slept on my lap the entire trip. By the time we got home someone had messaged us that Zeus, the pug, belonged to them. (YES!)
His family came to pick him up and all ended well.
Julie would have been proud of me; it is exactly what she would have done.

Unaware that this is an "Act of Kindness" but realizing that it is through thoughtful thinking about Julie. I am very aware of the older population of Veterans in our country. They are easy to identify and in appropriate locations I greet them and ask them about their service...........they are happy to respond and conversation ensues. I think it brightens their day and I know it certainly brightens mine. It is an unplanned spontaneous occurrence.

Your acts of kindness, love and generosity:
I wanted to share an act of kindness that was given to me. A couple of days ago my 13 year old son's math teacher called me to tell me how much he has been participating and engaging in class. She told me how helpful it was and she hopes he keeps it up. She did not know that last year he had some struggles with behavior and keeping on track at school. He worked hard to turn them around by the end of the year, and has been optimistic about having a great year this year. Her phone call meant so much, and it made my whole day. Even more I was able to celebrate this with my son when he got home from school. The joy was contagious as kindness often is. You never know what a kind word or a compliment can mean to someone, so if you think it, don't hesitate to share it!

Your act of kindness, love and generosity:
As I got out of the car at Trader Joe's in Surprise, AZ, on top of the concrete base of a light pole, I saw a bright and beautiful yellow painted rock with a delicate green leaf painting on it! I get very excited over these things despite being grown! My 8 year old daughter loves finding rocks also, so I decided I'd surprise her and bring it home for her, as she's usually with me but not this time. As I got back into the car, I looked up the site on the back of the rock and was so very touched to see such a beautiful idea being executed! As I returned home, I stopped to say hi to my daughter and her friend at the park and noticed the girl's big brother was helping her out of the tree. My daughter performed an act of kindness herself and called the girl's mom to help because her friend was stuck in the tree! So the next morning, which is now, I set the rock outside the bedroom door so my daughter would find it upon waking, but she was still groggy and didn't! So I told her there was a little surprise outside the door for her and I read to her about Julie, which we know many with the same name, so I had to clarify this Jewels is not any we know, but how lovely it is to know her now, and we read her fun little puppy book on the site! We send love to all who actually knew and miss Julie and thank you for sharing her amazing love and spirit with all of us! This is how we live on once we leave. In these touching ways. I love this! And my daughter is excited because she wants to paint a rock to share now so we will be sure to connect the next person here!

Your act of kindness, love and generosity: Liefde "Love" from the Netherlands!
My husband and I spent the last week traveling throughout Germany and Austria.
I brought 10 Julie Kindness Rocks with on our trip to share during our time here. The rocks were placed where I felt moved to place them. The final rock was placed in Rothenburg, Germany at an old fountain. The moment I placed it a young girl excitedly ran over with a giant smile on her face and picked up the rock. I couldn't help but stop to talk to them. Her mom told me her daughter makes her own "happy rocks" where they live in the Netherlands.
This was such a special thing for me to hear, so I asked for a photo with her, and then asked her name......
Her name is Liefde, which means "Love" in English.
I was absolutely speechless and touched by this moment and will remember it forever. It was meant to be.
Leifde! If you visit this website, please know how special this moment was for me! Julie means the world to me, and you made my tribute to her overseas an unforgettable experience.

Your acts of kindness, love and generosity:
This past Sunday, we had a Day of Kindness!
Me and my niece, Charlotte, and nephew, Teddy, went out in the community to share kindness!
We started out with breakfast at Original Pancake House and Charlotte mentioned how a great act of kindness would be sharing breakfast with Grandma Chris and Grandpa Mike! So we ordered an omelet and pancakes to go and delivered a surprise breakfast to Grandma and Grandpa! Everyone was happy, with this act of kindness! After breakfast, we went to Target to purchase toys to give to kids in need. Charlotte(5) and Teddy(3) have been taught well about kindness to others, and they did a great job picking out toys to give to kids in need! They didn't ask for a single thing for themselves that day.
After they did so good shopping for others, we picked up cupcakes to share with mom & dad. They couldn't decide between the MN Gopher cupcakes & Vikings cupcakes, so we got both!!
It was a wonderful to spend a day with these kiddos sharing kindness. Julie and I had made a tradition to shop for kids in need during the holiday. It's a good way to honor her memory and I know how much she loved Charlotte and how much she would adore Teddy! We share acts of kindness regularly and remember our girl Julie!

I have rock number 1096 given to me by Arnita. My husband and I received an act of kindness at our grandson's baseball game in Billings, MT. We went up to the concession stand to order snacks and a gentlemen said, "Let me get that for you, sir, and Thank you for your service." y
My husband was wearing his Vietnam Vet cap and he is often honored when he has that hat on. We were both so touched by the offer to buy our refreshments made by that gentleman.
